Popped a few advil this morning. Might grab a few more shortly.
Flu/chest cold/head cold...not sure what it is, but it's being persistent.
I also took a couple of Vitamin C tabs this morning, and had a large glass of OJ. That seemed to help for a while.
Thanks for asking and caring everyone.DANGER

Another day, another diagnosis!
PT was just here, played a lot with and poked my foot to determine exactly where the pain was and what type of touch aggravates it.
Morton's neuroma occurs as the nerve passes under the ligament connecting the toe bones (metatarsals) in the forefoot.
A neuroma is a benign tumor of a nerve. Morton's neuroma is not actually a tumor, but a thickening of the tissue that surrounds the digital nerve leading to the toes.
Darcy brought the ultrasound machine in, set me all up, but when she started using it, it was burning. She said she had it only set to warm, but turned it down and tried again. Nope, still burned. So she can't use ultrasound because she is scared it would burn the skin.
Then she did the sharp/dull poke test - did a lot of yelping as there were sharp pokes . She was amazed by my ultra- sensitive skin, yes it's real, I think she didn't think it was possible.
She did the left foot, and it's both of them.
She will talk to the doc about getting shots in that foot. I said maybe I could have my knees done at the same time.
So just a few minutes ago, I was sitting here crying, and housekeeping walked in. I knew her from before, she is from Africa, I forget where, but she is a lovely young woman. She was telling me not to cry, but to be thankful for every part of the day. I won't go through it all, it was not bible-thumping stuff, but a beautiful, wise philosophy. I have no idea of her age, she has a toddler.
Stay tuned for tomorrow for SC's newest game show: Diagnosis-A-Day!
Or continuing with As the Stomach Turns:
Will Natalie be able to see the very handsome Orthopedic doctor again, or will she get a dud? Stay tuned!

@Natalka, I admire you for keeping your humor in your situation. Chin up, my dear, one day soon a doctor will have an AH-HA moment and then all will turn around for you. Wish I had some words of advice for you but it sounds like the lovely housekeeper had some great ones.

@Natalka , my DH was also diagnosed with Morton's neuroma a few months ago, and he received an injection that had multiple types of cortisone in it...fast acting, shower release...anyway he felt relief from it in a couple of days, still just fine, so don't worry...they have a drug for everything!!
@danger_dan , I hope that misery leaves you soon...it's been ages, hasn't it? Yes, tons of Vit C doesn't hurt a person...start Vit D daily also, it's so important esp for us during the winter months here without sunshine. Get well soon!

@Lynn49 - so me and your husband are unknown twinsies!
When I read about it, it kinda doesn't seem to fit, since my pain is below the ball of the foot, more towards the heel. But the PT poked and prodded lots to see what types of movement and/or pressure generated pain. She came back later to see if I could pick a wash cloth off floor with my toes, while I was sitting. I couldn't do it with either foot, she says that's because I am so weak.
I just want this all to stop. Enough new crap already!
My roommate just left on a day pass - in her case, it will just be a few hours.
Aide asked her what she will be doing - Zane said "second honeymoon" - she is so sweet!
She is 81, husband 84.Last edited by Natalka; Mon, Mar 18th, 2019 at 04:16 PM.
