Good afternoon! Skipped church and the annual meeting. My total unexpired reclaimable products from the baking cupboard consists of thousands of paper cupcake liners still in original packages. Various sprinkles and colourful decorations-some still in original packages. Shortbread stamps, package of coarse salt (maybe I could use it on the patio) unopened package of Sultanas. And Lots and lots of various food wrap in various stages of use. Some sugar and some golden sugar. I think that is about it. All the cake mixes with which I would make cupcakes expired at various times over the past 2 and in some cases 3 or 4 years. Good thing I am moving -right?
I have been whacking away at the 4" of ice on the patio. Why? I don't really know, I am not making much progress. I think it just gives me an excuse to sit down for a while and rest.
I'm watching a movie called "Me Before You." It has NOT been nominated - in fact, it is a Hallmark Movie. I'm quite sure it will involve some crying before we're through. Happy crying , of course!
I think I can pack and cry at the same time. Back to it, woman!Last edited by avoncallingu; Sun, Feb 24th, 2019 at 04:41 PM.

Oh dear-crying - yes, but in a "little-too-close-to-home" kind of a way. Emotions always run high when the wind whips up.

Aw, @avoncallingu - it's good to get it all out!
Boring afternoon. Just finished watching tonight's episode of Call the Midwife, it is such an incredibly good show.
Am going to watch a bit of the Oscars - have not seen any movies.
Good night, friends!

Good morning crew!! Feeling like we dodged a bullet last night, not extreme winds, no shingles were lost I mean and the snow left on the path was just a thin layer. I have no reason ( appts. errands ) to go out again, so whoopee! PJ's Day again.
Oh before I forget @Lynn49 .... yes!! I had posted shamelessly about that great night of hockey ( so glad you guys also saw it ) and the photo of the hockey player in that post is Johnsson , he was the player who had taken repeated jabs, crosscheck, direct hits from Max Domi ( with refs calling no penalties! ) so at the end of the game going up the ice with Nylander, he gets the puck passed to him ( a gift! ) so he could score the empty netter!
That was JUST to stick it to the Habs ya know?
Busily cross stitching away all day yesterday, finished a smaller project and started a new medium sized one for my DD. I know she'll crack up at the wording on it, but I can't post it in here ( it is a wee bit vulgar! ha ha ) Taken from the internet......along the same style as Not Your GrandMa's Cross Stitch.
Watched the Oscar's last night, pretty decent despite there being no host. The 3 gals ( Maya, Tina and Amy ) that came out at the beginning knocked it out of the park and that gave the show a boost, followed by Adam Lambert singing with Queen.
If I had to pick one acceptance speech that had me giggling it was Olivia Coleman ( Best Actress for
The Favourite ) her British accent and phrases, along with her comical ramblings made it quite entertaining.
Rami Malek gave a short but impactful speech on his roots, I can't help seeing the character he played on Mr. Robot when I watch him....ha ha
I heard today that he had fallen off the stage after he walked away from giving the speech...thank goodness, no injuries.
There was sympathy from me as I watched Spike Lee, he struggled to read the words of his speech, despite that bump, it was an emotionally filled recounting of parts of his life, his heritage and accomplishments of his Grandma.
Good grief in my a.m. news feed I read the Orange Blob in the White House chimed in on Lee's speech.....it's NOT about you, you narcissistic man child!
whew! sorry!
No watching CNN for me today, that is obvious.
Ok kiddos....carry on, I know it's the first of 5 work days but someone's gotta do it!
