Ashley: yes, absolutely it feels yucky to eat a large meal when one is dieting! Getting accustomed, for me anyway, to eating less, makes it very hard to pig out. (which I fully intend to do during the game tomorrow or I'll go bonkers!) I imagine when our tummies shrink, or are accustomed to getting just the right amount, loading it up again with tons of food absolutely would make us feel horrible. I know I do. At Christmas, although it was fun eating whatever I wanted, I felt like a blob! I honestly couldn't wait to go back to dieting! Now when in my long life have I EVER said that?!! LOL!!

All any of us can do is our best. No one elses. Just ours.

Your description of your stair-climbing with boxes, etc, exhausted me, just reading it! I think you're doing just fine!!

Thank you, Holly...this fibro is fairly new to me, so I've been doing a lot of reading up on what I've been feeling/going through; there are so many ways it affects a person! Even my IBS can be attributed to it for heaven's sake. And I do wish I was on really good drugs, too, lol...My doc won't let me take Aleve, and I'm too scared of popping Tylenol each and every time I'm in pain...I wake up in pain, and go to sleep in pain...sorry to go on about it....I don't usually like to blab about my pain....My hubby saw there was a fibro group meeting here, and I said that the last thing I want to do is sit around with a bunch of people and listen to them complain!
I see our doc in February so I'll talk to him about options....but Lyrica and drugs like that scare the bejeegers out of me, too.

Thank you, Holly.....the best part of all is that YOU are feeling better, stronger and healthier. With what you've gone through......I'm just so proud and happy for you!!!
Lyrica....don't do it! I know several people that were/are on it for the fibro pain and although it works for them (I tried it for 3 months and it did nothing for me), so many of them have gain and extra 50 or more pounds , yes that's right...50 or more I have one poor friend (she used to be such a tiny thing) she's 5'4 and always weighed between 110 and 115....now she weighs 168 poor thing, we joke around that she's starting to smell like a fish because she's been eating nothing but fish, brown and wild rice and tons of veggies and fruit since last year now and has only lost 2 pounds! She goes to the gym twice a week, swims and is pretty active. It's getting so bad that she is considering going off of it, but it's the only thing that has helped her so far to control her pain from the fibro. Her Dr refused to give her anything stronger than T4 for pain and that doesn't do anything as we know. She's not alone either. So many people have complained about the weight gain side effect from Lyrica, you don't change any eating habits, in fact they probably get better because you're trying to loose the weight, but it just keeps coming on. She has finally leveled out at the weight she is, but she hates it. I'm on dilaudid. My Dr. and I tried many, many different drugs and combos, but nothing worked. Even the pain meds I'm on only reduce the level of pain, it's never gone. I've learned how to deal with it, and like I said, if I don't go to the gym, my body gets racked with pain (even with my meds). Hopefully hun, you will find what works well for you, but don't rule out exercise , it CAN and WILL actually help. But, like everything else, we need to ease into it slowly, very slowly.

Yay! Super Bowl. Soo sad my Pats didn't make it this year. No big party for me though. But will endulge in some nachos and cheese.

I'm back down to my start weight again, so getting ACTIVE-busy is my next goal.

    Have a great week friends!

Morning all, it's Monday, the game is over and it's time to start anew! There are 24 days left this month, I would like to challenge you all to lose 4 pounds in those 24 days....are you up for it, can you do it? I have faith in you all! Let me know if your in and I will keep track of the pounds and who the people are. I love mini challenges, I do them all the time for myself and I find they really help out. When you meet that goal, you make another, and before you know it, a year has passed and you've done it, your reached the big goal. But they always say baby steps...so who's in???

I have the gastro now, I thought I would not get it but Kevin and my mom have it and ofcourse who cleans up the mess, guess it was inevitable.

My dad moves to the rehab home today, so he will start to feel better. Hospitals are depressing when all you want to do is start to feel better. This place is a 5 minute drive from us so much better than the 45 minutes to get downtown to the hospital everyday.
