Drat, nary a mouse was caught yesterday, but husband will check the traps when he gets up.

Nat, have your fellas found out how they're getting into your home? This may not help, but I'm letting you know in case the guys feel it might, if they find the problem area: when we all close up our trailers for the winter, we get the campground guys to apply some 'gunk' on all the areas under them where mice may tend to enter the trailers...and apparently it's very successful! Perhaps if you visit a campground supplier they'd be able to help locate the stuff and you could use it at home? It's non-toxic to other critters...it just discourages mice to mess with the stuff.

Anyhoodles...I hope either Vader or your guys caught the little thing...

Hey, avon, the w/c is up to -13, but it's sunny off and on!

Y'know, I just don't know whether Vader would do anything with a mouse. I think, by her nature, that she's more of a stalker, not a killer. Even with bugs, she'll follow them and not even swat them.
That said, today she isn't showing me that there is anything squeaking around the kitchen or anywhere else, so it's either gone, hiding elsewhere - or gone to the basement.
As for where a mouse gets in - sure it could have slipped through an outside door, but since we are renting this house and it's really, really old so there are probably all sorts of cracks and crannies it could have gotten in through.

It was kind of nice last year when they stayed under the stove, so we ended up getting the three or four of them within a week.
