I'm in Saskatoon - we were close to and just over 30 all week - it's cooled off this weekend to mid-20s.

Last night I sauteed onions and Polish sausage, made crisped potato rounds in the oven, along with broccoli and grape salad.

Last night we had mozzarella grilled cheese sandwiches with cream of tomato soup.
LO recently learned how to suck from a straw, so dh cooled some soup in a bowl and helped him drink from it with a straw. This was LO's first time having soup. I think he might have liked using the straw more than he enjoyed the soup.

Tonight's supper is going to be a freshly roasted picnic ham, marinated vegetable salad (celery, carrot, broccoli, and cauliflower), with freshly dug potatoes.

Tomorrow id ds's first birthday, so I will be baking and icing cupcakes later today. Problem is...most people haven't given me a definitive answer, so I don't know how many guests we are expecting.

I have been in a chili mood too for a few days... i think today is the day (without tomatoes of course!)

There are just 2 of us here and sometimes i want dessert... but a cake is just too much for us to eat so i was all too happy to find this recipe today!

There is just nothing like things made from scratch!

DH is out tonight, so DS and I had seafood chowder. He recently expressed an interest in learning how to cook, so he helped with the chowder. Tomorrow's supper is in the crockpot, a small pork roast with ketchup, soy sauce, sugar, garlic, ginger. DS helped with that too, crockpot cooking is so easy!
