What's For Dinner?

I finished putting beef stew ingredients in the crockpot.... just need to buy some dinner rolls.

Smoky bbq chicken thighs, broccoli salad and leftover from last night potato salad.

DH made up one of his soups last night and he pulled a line on me that I never expected! I came up part way through the simmering asking what was in the soup and he replied " if I tell you what's in it you get NONE! "
Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard! He meant it too!

I almost never allowed him to see what I am making because I love to surprise him when I serve the meal. So I have said this line to him for years! I have even stopped him from ascending or descending either staircase and thwarted any plans he had to enter the kitchen......it has just been this sort of fun back and forth that we've had, but for him to pull it on me?!
Bravo!!
Anyhow, the soup was a chicken broth base and was delicious! I saw rice, corn niblets, celery, onion, chicken but I have no idea what herbs/spices he used? His secret!

Nobody will be home for dinner tonight so it will give me time to make some food for tonight/tomorrow without being rushed to get dinner on the table

I like those kinds of sandwiches. next week I will be buying ingredients to make hot hamburger sandwiches. To serve with fries and peas (I love peas lol)

My wife took one of her friends to Costco today (he friend does not have a card) and the lady bought two boxes of broccoli cheese quiche not realizing that each box was actually two pies so she gave her one

I personally have never had a quiche so will be interesting to try
