Joey's dinner for two - came with four big pieces of fish, two huge orders of fries, coleslaw, and popcorn shrimp.
Husband said he didn't want shrimp, my head said goodie, more for me... I dipped one in the seafood sauce and yikes, my mouth was on fire. Now I like the zing of horseradish, but this was too much. Told husband, he took the sauce.
I went on to eat fish, then a bit later had a naked shrimp... Same fire! Guess they are spicy shrimp, menu had not said. So I surrendered the shrimp to husband, who of course had earlier told me he didn't want any just because he knows how much I love shrimp. What a hon!

that was a surprise for your taste buds eh @Natalka ? I also enjoy shrimp but these days I have them icy cold ( I buy the 340 gr bags of frozen cooked shrimp when they have a sale ) and I dip them in cocktail sauce...yummers!

So I did a bit of " weekend " cooking early this morning because my 2 guys have taken the reins and are making all their own work meals each day for the week. What a break for me!
I can see getting used to this.

So I made pork schnitzel for the first time. I figured how hard can it be to make and I was right.
Had to slice each of the 6 thick pork loin chops into 3 thinner pieces and then pound them flat. Then dipped in egg/Greek yogurt mixture, patted them in some seasoned crumbs I made up.
Sauteed in batches ( cast iron pan ) with liberal amounts of butter added.
Made a large pot of mashed spuds and steamed up 2 bunches of broccoli to go with them.

Then I made a beef stew....so if the power does go out here we have something to warm up...yikes! I just realized we will have to warm them up on the BBQ outside!! ha ha

Walkonby, I love cold shrimp like that, too.
Yay for schnitzel! It takes work to pound as thin as possible, but it is worth it. We do ours in oil, makes the costing costing crispier. Also, dredge in flour before going in egg and crumbs. Enjoy!

    Hoping you don't lose power!
