Gosh, all of these sound good - I especially love when I have to google (e.g. 'bartha') - because I learn new things!
We're having perogies with onions and sour cream; along with some ham garlic sausage my sister brought from Edmonton - gosh it's yummy, it's the 'smokiest' kolbassa I've ever had!

Here's a simple recipe i got from a member of the freecycletocafe group i belong to, if you have a sweet tooth you'll love this i'm sure:
take 1 or 2 cans of sweetened condensed milk, take labels off can/s, put unopened cans in a pot of water (do not open cans) bring water to the boil, turn heat down enough to simmer water, simmer for 3-4 hours (make sure water does not evaporate), take cans out of water, let cool, open and voila you have golden coloured toffee.
