Tonight I'm going to make rice, red salmon with shallots and garlic in a dill cream sauce, carrots and some homemade roasted garlic and cheese buns (taste similar to the ones from Red Lobster only better).

We ate at the Golden Corral tonight as part of our cross-border shop n eat excursion. I had a number of fantastic things for supper, not the least of which was waaaaaaaaaay too much fudge for dessert.
My kids said Golden Corral should come to Canada. Ha! I'm glad I have to drive 45 minutes west and sit through the long customs line in order to get there because then it's not easy nor convenient. Gawd. If Golden Corral ever came to Canada, their dessert table would be very baaaaaaad for my health. LOL."Be yourself. Everyone else is already taken." Oscar Widle

Fish shouldn't smell fishy if it is fresh. That "fishy" smell comes from the degradation of the tissue. That being said, I don't cook fish myself because my fiancé doesn't eat it. But my Dad was always a follower of the sniff test. Is it easy to get fresh fish in more landlocked places (spoken from an oblivious Nova Scotian who generally can buy straight off the dock/boat).

Today I made homemade pirogies and cooked up some Ukrainian sausage to go with it. I also spiced up some chicken thighs with cajun spices and wrapped them up tightly and put them back in the fridge. I'm going to cook them up tomorrow night, by then the spices will have had time to marinate through the chicken.
