Tonight I'm going to make some pork cutlets with a chirzo sausage gravy, some mashed sweet potatoes, some roasted parsnips, turnips and beets and we'll finish off the rest of the cucumber salad left over from last night.

These plates I show are always his plates, I could never eat a quarter of that, but it's easier to get his plate ready, take a picture, then set it at the table for him. Then get mine

Do you share your recipes? *drools* The beef and broccoli looks yummy, and authentic!

I couldn't find farmers cheese (actually I wasn't sure what it was and I had a mild Havarti that I grated and added)

I knew there was something behind it for, yes, I planned to make the ribs tonight - but I asked him why. Turns out he has plans tonight to go out for pizza for his cousin's birthday, and didn't want me to make ribs on a night he wouldn't be there! LOL, I wouldn't, so said I would make them on Sunday.

So tonight is just me and my husband - since it's payday, maybe we'll get takeout... dunno yet.
Isn't it great when your kids LIKE something that you make? Mine is just getting to that point, that he prefers some of my homemade foods over Kraft Dinner and the like. I recently made chicken and barley stew dumplings, and my six year old was commenting on how good it was. Then he says, "But I don't like the blobs." The 'blobs' were my delicious DUMPLINGS! Oh well, all the more for DH and I.

I made a roast chicken, rice, green beans and a salad. It was good, but it would have been more practical to buy two ready-made ones from Costco...they are $4.99 each and the one chicken I bought was $11. A scoop of cookies 'n Cream ice cream for dessert.
Love the design of the dish and it look and sure was delicious

samosas, corn, and a curry noodle sidekicks...I was way too lazy to actually prepare something since I worked both jobs today and need to study for exams that I have the rest of the week and I forgot to take a dish of the chili out of the freezer that I made last weekend so it was mismatch night.

Today I decided to re-try something I don't like to eat. I went to subway and loaded up on Green Peppers. And it turns out they are not so bad afterall. Maybe next week I will re-try something else I don't like. Except mushrooms.

i made a batch of what my mom used to call 'meat and rice' and its just that....ground beef fried with onions, mushrooms and peas mixed in with a big pot of white rice. it's so yummy and a comfort food here. so i had that, the kids had 'mini subs' with ham, cheese, lettuce and mayo.
