Dan, when our DD attended those out of the country conferences, she was allowed to bring her DH as long as she paid for him....took them to San Francisco where he rented a sports car and drove California State Hwy 1 down to Pebble Beach for lunch...hahaha!!
Anyway, would that be an option for you? To pay for your wife's flight etc?

Tried that too. They weren't on board with any of it. Logistically, they didn't want to give out any information regarding the trip, so it would just be a nightmare for us to coordinate things, even if we paid for the Lady to come along.

It's been a lovely day but when I tried to accomplish some income tax paper work, I got so tired I fell asleep.

Going to pick up Brother R to come over for supper and watch TV. BrotherB has not heard any more from the insurance company except that they will have their home inspected by a structural engineer before they will return to it. That will apply to at least 9 homes in the neighbourhood. Some people will be escorted in this evening to gather up anything they may need. My younger nephew, upon hearing that their across the street neighbours ( the ones beside the totally ruined home) would have to have their existing home torn down and rebuilt -wanted to know if they could "take in" the neighbours. He's such a soft-hearted guy. Apparently their were 2 dogs and one survived and has been taken to the OSPCA.
Several of our friends have offered to let my family take over their homes while they, themselves are away in the next few weeks.

I must get moving and 're-start my day. That's what I get for waking up before 6 and staying awake.

@Lynn49 , I can't believe it is time for you to close up the camp.! Seems like your DH and your trip to Drs. turned out ok.

Hello folks, you may see CTV coverage of a house explosion in Kitchener this morning. It was the house directly across the street from my brother's house. My nephew was home alone at the time. Everyone in the family is safe but they can't go back to their home until it has been checked for structural damage.
A woman, their neighbour was killed and a man taken by air ambulance to hospital.
Prayers, please, folks. Sorry to have such news. Hug your family.

Good morning all

Good start to my morning.
Hours for a European Seminar/Conference Trip coming up approved! One of the manufacturers I work closely with offered to send me Europe later next month for a week long Conference they are hosting. Big wigs here reviewed the itinerary and gave me the A-Okay to charge the 80% of the time to Continuing Education/Seminar/Conference work.
80% is absolutely fair. There will be a few boat cruises and a bit of Golfing...:big grin: Can't really charge the office for that stuff!

Any who. cooler day here today.
Lady is working from home today, so Coop gets to spend the day with Mom.
@Natalka, I'm glad to hear you have some good news. @Avaoncallingu, that's crazy news. I hope everything was cleared/will be cleared soon for you brother and his family's home.

wow about the new developments in that house explosion. I hope the husband is not responsible for his wife's murder....such tragedy.
All the inconvenience and loss the whole neighbourhood must now endure. Whoever made that decision to destroy the home must have known how to do it....must say I do NOT know how to blow up my own home.

Time to search for a snack....later everyone!!

The Police said that results of the autopsy and forensics contributed to the change in direction of the investigation. Perhaps it was an attempted murder/ suicide. We will hear more in the next few days I guess.

Either way, it's all very UN-nerving!
