Mine definitely is NOT like restaurant chop suey - but it is pretty close to what my mom used to make when I was growing up, so I like that.
Today was the first day of Lent for us, which means strict fast - no eating all day, then for a meal no meat, dairy, eggs, etc.
My husband had sardines and bread; I had a peanut butter sandwich.

Dh and I spent 8 hours in the states(
) so it was RedRobin for us. I had the fish sandwich and dh had the bacon burger(like always).
On the upside we got some good deals and saved a good chunk of $$$
Tonight will be fridge clean out night whatever that may yield

Pancakes and sausages tonight - cut up the cooked sausages and mixed them with beans.
Note to self - not always good to try a new pancake recipe - stick with the tried and true one! These were heavy, not fluffy, though they still tasted great.Last edited by Natalka; Tue, Mar 4th, 2014 at 08:32 PM.

I made a casserole of Pate Chinois (Chinese Pie). For the uninitiated, it's a popular French-Canadian dish and is basically a Sheppard's Pie with a layer of creamed corn added. My kitty Apollo loves it, which is great since he hasn't been eating enough these days and I need to get some calories into him.

Leftover chop suey for me; leftover pancakes, sausage, and beans for husband - eggs, too, if he needs more food.

We had to be at DS's school tonight not long after we got home (math night!), so I planned to have leftover potato soup and I picked up some ham to grill wraps on my Cuisinart Griddler.
First there was a LOT of traffic and we all ended up late. Then I got home and started on the food, soup in the microwave, grill heating up next to it. Darn it, I forgot that when I use the microwave and plug something into the same outlet that it will cause the circuit to trip. I've never reset it before (we avoid doing that normally because this happens!)! DH and DS were running behind so they could not help me. So I'm down in the basement at the fuse box, randomly flicking things, finally Swagbucked it and realized I have to turn it all the way OFF before turning it back on. Of course I got it as they walked in the door. But meanwhile I had plugged the griddle in somewhere else and the wraps were done, only took another minute for soup.
