Went to a good old-fashioned church picnic today. BBQ burgers, corn on the cob, coleslaw, watermelon, and some baked goodies. The weather was windy, but it was fun all the same.

Well we are having pork ribs and again whatever I can rummage from mine and my neighbours gardens as they are away. Currently we have peas, saskatoon berries and rhubarb and they have lettuce, strawberries and broccoli so I don't think we will starve! Going away for 3 weeks on Wednesday so trying to clean out our fridge and pantry and to avoid shopping until we arrive in Vancouver.

Oh, lizzie, so nice you can use their garden produce!
For supper, I'm making meatballs with tomato sauce, pasta, and salad.

Yes Natalka it is very nice to have fresh produce next door for free-don't even have to drive to the store for it either. I took my friend some broccoli, peas, strawberries and lettuce over this morning and she was thrilled to have it. So far not sure what dinner will be but just made up a pot of homemade mac and cheese for lunch-cold day so that should be nice.

I have a meeting this afternoon and another one tomorrow afternoon, so I won't get home until 5:00pm each day. Wednesday might be even later because I am taking a day long course in town.
If I get going in the kitchen I plan on getting some chicken sliced up and marinating. I'll cook it with various fresh veggies and serve it over rice noodles. I got the idea for it last week on this thread.Help me out with Swagbucks and we can both earn gift cards and PayPal money

Tonight we are having BBQ Pork over left over mashed potatoes with re heated roasted carrots and maybe a bun on the side. Weird I know most people put BBQ Pork on a bun but I love it over mashed potatoes.

After almost 4 weeks of mostly airport food, take out and bags of carrots... I think tonight I am just going to have Chunky Soup with a cup of tomato soup. And a Mango Smoothie. If I had the energy, i'd make grilled cheese sandwiches... but I don't.

Well I was sorting through the freezer and found a single serving chicken kiev and a chicken diane so will throw that in the oven with some roast potatoes and serve with salad.
