Went to daughter`s house today to celebrate 2 birthdays (hers and our grandson`s). Her hubby made the spaghetti sauce for dinner and we had spagh with caesar salad, 6 long baguettes (18 kids and 16 adults). she has an old country house and the kitchen is huge; we all fit! My daughter also made 2 large platters of cut up vegies and 2 different kinds of dip. She had 2 rectangular b-day cakes and i made a Fruit Cocktail Cake with a Caramel Coulis. Everything went! Im stuffed to the gills.

Yay!!!!!!!!!! Turkey day! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Table is set, vegies all cut up and ready to boil; raw vegies and dip prepared and in the fridge; curley lettuce washed and ready to be ripped; turkey cleaned and ready to be stuffed and roasted; homemade apple pie from Giant Tiger all ready to be lied about that i made it(LOLOLOLOLO). Now just waiting for everyone to descend on us. We have a few hours to relax a bit; im expecting everyone to come around 2 PM.

pigs in blankets. I've been baking pumpkin pies and muffins all day and still need to clean and prep the turkey so wanted something sort of quick for supper. Made the dough myself though

I cant believe that we went through 3 jars of olives yesterday at dinner, 1 quart jar of marinated beets, 2 1/2 quart jars of Cranberry sauce, 1 regular jar of sweet pickles, all the extra old cheese and brie, all the raw vegies and dip ( had to make more dip), all the turkey stuffing. No one ate the Giant Tiger apple pies, instead i made hot chocolate sundaes and caramel sundaes for dessert. Hubby and i cleaned the turkey last night and i separated the carcass into 5 sections and froze each section individually; lots of meat still left on the bones so im going to start making turkey soup this week!

Guess what`s for dinner tonight??????????? Hot turkey sandwiches with some leftover carrots and turnips, lots of gravy and some french fries. Looks like we will have to eat the Giant Tiger apple pies ourselves. Anyway, i froze one of them.

Yesterday we had a ham dinner at my parents... LOL then we watched walking dead! I am kind of missing turkey so i am going to pop open a can of my home canned turkey... cube up some bread... finely dice in some onion and celery salt and pepper and toss about 1 1/2 teaspoons of sugar in and about 3/4C - 1 cup of craisens. Then I bake it for about 45 minutes. I get stuffing with turkey in it... and with the home made turkey broth it tastes like it came straight out of the bird... It is one of my cheater go to meals. The best part is it has a 5 - 10 min prep time and the rest of the time the oven does the work.
