Wowsers, so many big meals for Sunday dinner! It's awesome!

I had no one to help me, so I had to make it a one roaster oven meal. Layered bottom of roaster with onions, celery, carrots, and mushrooms in Italian spiced oil; next layer potatoes in salt, pepper, and paprika; porkchops on top with garlic bbq sauce and chives.

Another beef stew with my own stock. This time I added bay leaves and later a star anise. The star anise is new for me and was a good idea as it gives a more complex and nice flavour to the stew.

Why did I stop at the gas station and buy pizza pops for diner? I think I would feel better now if I just ate cat food instead.

Yesterday I had several friends for dinner and it was extremely hot. So I started in the morning getting everything ready. For the afternoon appy I made a huge bowl of guacamole and garlic hummus served it with several different types of corn chips. I made potato salad, a marinated cucumber and onion salad and a watermelon and feta salad. Then I did Cajun shrimp on skews ( while at Costco last week I got a 5 lb. bag of jumbo tiger prawns on sale), and a garlic marinated chicken breast on the bbq.. For dessert I made a gluten free caramel apple cake and served it with a french vanilla ice cream.

Tonight's dinner (since it's going to be another scorcher of a day) will be the leftovers from last night.

Saturday we had tickets to see The Wizard of Oz theater production in downtown Toronto, so we went to Jack Astors first and had there sweet and spicy tofu pad thai. Sunday I made home made pizza with marinara sauce, spinach, green peppers, pineapple, mushrooms and daiya jack cheese.

Tonight will be corn gluten free pasta and a organic marinara sauce with a green leaf salad.
