I recycled an old Finch thread I had in 2012 to make it all about Frankie! lol

About setting Frankie free. Apparently as it turns out he has imprinted on both of us, so releasing him would be a death sentence as he has no skills on how to gather/hunt/capture food. Not even sure he would search out other birds because " what are birds? " . He probably thinks he is a human, as his eyes have only known us.
If at some point I can find a suitable sanctuary that would allow him to live at their place for the remainder of his life then fine, but this covid thing is still creating roadblocks.

crazy...I have never met Tavares, he is certainly not in my bubble, but I was physically nauseated when I watched him try and lift his head and his body fell back. The equivalent of seeing someone's eyes roll back in their head!
Like you, everything after that was pointless, the game was coated in sadness.
I don't even care that they lost, I just need him to be o.k.

oh my!! I had no idea you could make delicious desserts with that carnation milk? Creme Brulee? I must tell my son. That whipping cream he used to make the 2 small servings for us was darn expensive. Thanks!!
ha ha ! My DH is such a cut up at times. calling it bull milk...not sure who he was trying to snub the bull or the cows?

ty for the post about the wool roll bread. You know what ? My DS and DH think mine turned out SOOO delicious and although I agree with them, I just wish mine " looked " as pretty as the one I saw in the video. Good luck with yours!

Happy New Year to you and yours!
    Blessings!

Just read your 6 a.m. post about grabbing the fresh produce today. Good luck with the crazy crowds. DH and I went yesterday to do that very thing and had to stand in long lines to get into both FB and NF, then to check out the line to pay stretched down and along 3 sides of the store.
For DH this is not his normal routine, so maybe now he understands when I am a bit curt after shopping....lol.

Thanks for your response on the Cheez it pricing. NF is 15 min drive away otherwise I would drive back and SCOP based on principal. Have an awesome rest to your day!

ikwym, there is one Sobeys that I hit at 7 a.m. if I have to be out that early dropping DD off nearby and they have come to see me as a " regular ". Their prices are mostly nutso, but I am very selective to earn maximum AM for minimum OOP. ha ha The sc way!

wah!!! I am so jealous you have 2 boys with you still, we also have 2 fully formed ( ha ha ) grown adults here, but this eldest one, he flew the coop early. My heart breaks thinking about him in his 1 bedroom apt during this covid isolation, even though he swears he was " built for this "...aka , likes his alone time.
Our BBQ feast went swimmingly! The gang seemed to really enjoy the flavour of the marinated rib things.

I had a quickie phone conversation this a.m. with my sis and both her and I were hyperventilating about the Leafs game last night.....ha ha I got such a laugh when you said your DH, DD would not allow any negative comments from you after they had scored twice in the 3rd.

Thank you, flemeth, my heart wasn't in it, I didn't want to opt out, but I know that in this heat it would have been a struggle to get through it.
I hope you're enjoying our hot summer and you're all staying safe and well.

oh my! Just read your post about relatives working in the Health Care field and those over the border. My heart aches for all of them, i am relieved that they are all safe atm.

with all the bread ( carb ) items I've been baking, it is a lost cause...my diet that is.

I just read your post from yesterday, you won't regret making that bread. The first loaf I made is GONE! ha ha Everyone loved it, and the guys never had it when it was fresh and hot out of the oven like DD and I did.
The next loaf is in the bowl atm. This time I used my food processor to make the dough up. Dumped in the dry, added the hot water through the top opening and it was a ball of dough in under a minute!

You mentioned not having the proper pot to bake that bread in. I used a cast iron dutch oven that has a tight fitting lid, which is also made of cast iron. I read some of the comments below the video and people have used other things. Main thing is the handles or lids, they must be oven proof.
I hope you can make this bread, you do lots of baking and I guarantee the family will drool over the taste and texture of this one!

same with my DH and DS workplace, they are busier NOW than before this pandemic.
( they ship goods at his work ). I feel nervous with 3 of the 4 occupants in the home here going to work every day. UGH! I have not really hugged or high fived the kids for 2 weeks now. We pretend to do it from a distance...lol

my DH was in bed ( pitfalls of a shift worker ) which is why I record important games for him, but when Canada roared back and when the game finished like it did with a 5 on 3 PP for us!? OMG, I climbed the 2 flights up to the bedroom and woke him up with my breathless play by play! I am thrilled a kid born in T.O. ( Akil Thomas ) scored that 4th and winning goal for us!!!
    Interesting video about him here

oh dear, I am so very sorry for your good friend's loss of her Dad (((hugs ))) Why is it raining out when i want some soft light fluffy snow to make my outside decorations POP instead of wilting them all wet! ha ha

ty for your kind words regarding Murphy. Realistically I know I have to accept that he may not be coming home, but there is still a sliver of hope that we are all clinging to. Pets fill our hearts up and then break them in two eh?

an fyi about my outdoor backyard rescue of Rufus. The very first thing I thought of when I went down?
You would think it was " did I injure my back ? " Nope. My first thought was " oh God , I hope no one is looking out their backyard windows right now and saw this spectacle ! " ha ha
As you said, so lucky neither of us got hurt.
