But here comes my two bits - yes, you deserve to have special time with your family to celebrate you being a mom. However, your moms won't be around forever, so make that sacrifice to spend time with them.

I'd give anything to have another day with my mom.
I feel the same way about my dad. Miss him terribly.

^ Me, too - both have been gone a very long time; they died in their 60s - dad when I was 25, mom when I was 35.

I get that, and I know I'd feel the same way if my mom was gone.
I think my frustration is more yes they want to see us(and we do want to see them), but they make it so difficult. Like I'm going out with my mom and the kids tomorrow to take dd out for a early birthday lunch, I figured I could buy her lunch, give her present and that would be her mothers day and we could do Sunday with dh's mom. Then I messaged her asking if she could stop by after she picked up my grandma on Sunday because the kids made a craft for them and wanted to give it my grandma themselves. Then my mom starts with the "You're not going to visit me on mother's day?" She has to drive by my street to pick up my grandma and get back to her house but can't stop by? Dh's mom never just "stops by", she stays for hours and always wants to put my youngest to bed, so there goes any chance I have of spending time with just dh and the kids(and not having to cook dinner since she complains non stop if she has to eat any fast food other than Tim Hortons) since he has to work Sunday morning/afternoon.

*It's possible that I'm just overly annoyed because I have pms, and ran out of chocolate*

I understand the chocolate thing. Ironically my sample source came today vh sauces...18 tampons and a brookside chocolate bar. I told bf and he thought they sent chocolate tampons

    Cyclist...............................

Do not get me wrong I know we have the share the roads but the number of time I come up on a group of cyclist who are riding 3 or more wide so you cannot get around them. They look back at you but never move over so you can get around. Last time I checked they were supposed to be riding single file. They complain how how cars do not share the road but they don't either, two way street is all I am saying.

We have the same problem here. I post on the local cycling club's facebook page and let them know that someone is going to get killed soon and an innocent would have to deal with the trauma of it all. Or, you could call the local club president and let him/her know what is happening as they might not be aware of the situation.

They are allowed to ride in the road if they are travelling at the speed of traffic.

I have no issue with them using the road, my issue is that they complain about cars not following the rules of road when they do not. If they would ride single file that they are supposed to and abide by the road rules I am sure we would all get along better.

Hmmm....debating on moving overseas...a border is not enough. I still see my mil who lives in the States more than I see my own mom who lives 10 minutes away.

My phones being a POS and as much as I am itching for the new iPhone that most certainly is not in my cards.

No idea what I want to do for mothers day. Chuck E cheese is sending me email deals and I can say one thing, I never want to go there let alone a day dedicated to "me" time

I forsee a carafe of sangria in the near future..
