Good evening fellow SC dwellers! It's been one of those days trying to navigate the medical system but thankful that I live here and not in Yankee Doodle land. Nice change in the weather which made for a good walk. Physically and mentally it helps to be able to get out.
Belated birthday greetings to the meme master @GoJays hope it was a good one!
Sorry to hear about your DD @Lynn49 hoping and praying that it's not Covid and that she will be better soon! I concur with you that as a parent you still worry no matter what the age. Indeed I also hope and pray that we ALL stay safe and healthy!
Have a great week one and all!Always remember the What are you thankful for today? thread as there always is something to be thankful for.

Happy birthday to the most Dangerous Dan of them all!
That's supposed to be a hug emoji but it didn't translate very well

Lynn49, that happened 6 weeks ago. She is back to work progressively right now and her blood test from Friday showed there is no active bacteria in her blood now but she has to go for blood tests again in 6 weeks just to make sure. while she was in ICU, she was tested for Covid 4 times and all came up negative.Last edited by SnowFlakey; Tue, Mar 9th, 2021 at 09:39 AM.

lol.... @GoJays I thought that hug emoji looked a little " handsy " but I have not had my eyes checked in nearly 2 years so it could be just me squinting and guessing!
@cath007 terrific update on your Dad. Good to know he is getting the best care.
@danger_dan oh wow, time flies. Another birthday for you eh?

Had a better night with some sleep toward morning.
Had an awesome evening, son came over for a visit and we fed him too. Even though we msg almost daily, he is scared of carrying the virus to us - since he is in contact with so many people daily, so he goes longer between visits.
He sure raises my spirits!
@Lynn49 - hope your daughter is better soon.
Just in general, true food poisoning is quite rare, most often people have caught a bout of a tummy bug.
I unfortunately had food poisoning whilst at university, my third year. Never experienced such pain and Sorry TMI, so very much gut pain, puking and the runs ... Didn't know the body could do all that.
I was staying at a small residence near campus and it was St. Patrick's Day. They had made a big meal since it was a special day - roast beef and all the trimmings.
The poisoning was from the mushrooms used in the gravy.
Now imagine communal bathrooms, not a good plan when such a high percentage of us got sick on the girls and guys floors.
I never, ever want to go through that again. I was 19, phoned home - all I wanted was my Mommy!

I can empathize. I had it a few years back with my guts all knotted up. I lay on my bathroom floor unable to move as the food made its way through my digestive tract. It only lasted a few hours and improved immediately after I expelled the offending material. I'm glad the human body has such defensive mechanisms to try and protect us.
My food may not befit a king, but I eat like a horse.

Thank heavens she's come through that successfully, @SnowFlakey , but still, how curious that no one could determine the reason it happened in the first place.
Something very similar happened to me several years ago....I was experiencing excruciating abdominal pain that developed over a period of several days that sent me to our doctor. Evidently I was dangerously close to going septic!!
I've never seen our doctor look so concerned in my life after my exam. He put me on a course of "nuclear-strength" (as he called it) antibiotics which cleared up that invasive infection.
Now here's something everyone should hear: I couldn't understand how that could have happened until one day I realized my mistake! We always have 'flushable tidy wipes' in our bathroom, a brand name, Cottonelle, but one day I saw something very similar at a $stir which I bought and was using. THAT had to be the culprit! I checked the label.....you can guess where it was made....and I thought of the process, the water they may have used and omgosh! I could have kicked myself!
So the moral of the story: do not buy any products manufactured " there" if it's to be intended for use anywhere near delicate areas! Not even eye makeup remover! Nothing! It's just not worth it!
Anyhoodles! It's a beautiful sunny day, temp is supposed to hit +7, so we'll be bbqing dinner since we don't have a stove...how nice that it's mild enough to do that for us!
Enjoy your day, stay safe, everyone!!Last edited by Lynn49; Tue, Mar 9th, 2021 at 12:01 PM.
