Is anyone watching the Netflix series called The Fall of the House of Usher? I was oblivious that it was an Edgar Allen Poe thing AND also unaware that in 1960 Vincent Price was the lead ( Roderick Usher ) character.

Funny, I had noticed this series listed but when I saw the word USHER in the title, I somehow thought it was a series about the singer Usher! Pfft! I could care less about watching that.
So glad I looked closer at it yesterday. Was very good!

Enjoy your day of rest from the theatre @Lynn49 .
Day of rest, @walkonby ! Haha! Nope, today we manned a table at a women's seminar so my back is complaining about our performance day yesterday and this seminar today. I get to do nothing until our next performance on the 24th! Woohoo! Might work on some Christmas stuff with my Circut!

I just want halloween to over, gone, done-with so that we can just get on with Christmas stuff!!

At Costco a couple days ago...or yesterday, who knows...I saw and HAD to have a set of acrylic Christmas trees that are battery operated with glitter floating around in them! 14" tall and they can either be white or colour changing and they're GORgeous!!! I'll put them in our front window with our deer this year. $40 for the set of two! Try to get THAT price anywhere else!
@walkonby , I know my apple crisp recipe that I shared with you and flemeth has that caramel sauce with it, but to be honest, it sure didn't need it! We served it with HagenDas vanilla ice-cream and it was perfect to cut into that sweetness. I would, however, make it to cut into vanilla ice-cream! Lol!! Let me know how it turns out...I've made caramel sauce a number of times...have a pastry brush ready with a bowl of water to "wash" down the sides to prevent crystals from forming and watch out because a lovely amber can turn into burned brown in seconds!

    Have a lovely evening, everyone!!!

@Lynn49 I see the appeal with the glittery stuff swirling inside those Christmas trees! Annoying though isn't it when 1 day Costco has them priced at 2 for $39.99, then their website lists them at $49.99 ( like we wouldn't notice? )

Decided to use some of my amazon gift card balance ( I earned from their CC promo ) to buy some new bed sheets. We're not talking Egyptian Cotton or anything, but just some new clean unpilled sheets.
Last night 2 MLB game were quite exciting! Pfft! better than watching our Leafs implode!.
BOTH of the teams ( Diamondbacks and Astros ) who faced elimination managed to pull off a win!
So.... in Texas the Rangers are shaking in their cowboy boots as the series is now tied 2-2. ( swoon to Jose Altuve who came up HUGE for the Astros! )
Then a squeaky walk off win ( 2-1 ) for the Diamondbacks gave them a single win in the series. Bryce Harper and the other Philly boys will be sharpening their skills to take game 4.

Oh and just for sh**s and giggles does anyone know how to pronounce this Phillies pitcher's name? It's spelled Pfaadt.....not a typo!
It's pronounced " fought ". Yeah, I suppose if I squint I can accept that but I'll never remember it for the next time he pitches.

    Have a glorious Friday all!

I can hardly breathe! OMG, What a freaking game. Astros vs Texas game 5, series is tied 2-2 . My little man Altuve did it again! Top of the 9th, Astros are down 4-2.
There was a dicey bench clearing episode just prior to this that saw the Astros pitcher and Dusty Baker tossed and the Texas batter who got hit tossed! Wow such drama.
So of course Altuve comes to the plate and slams a 3 run HR giving them the 5-4 lead and in the bottom of the 9th the Rangers could not get the win.

o.k. I sat on my hands all day afraid to post another sports thing BUT.....when I watched the Diamondbacks fight back to beat the Phillies on Friday night and again, there are 2 ex Blue Jays players on that team ( Lourdes Gurriel and Moreno ) . They both contributed huge in the late innings! Series is tied 2-2, Game 5 tonight at 8 p.m. Isn't it inspiring when teams are down 2-0 and fight there way back? That's some good baseball.

    o.k. carry on Chat-a-than gang.

@walkonby and @Lynn49 I made this recipe yesterday for dessert. It was so yummy that we had none left. We had it with vanilla ice cream. Next time I will try the caramel sauce recipe that @walkonby share with us.
