When I retired two years ago I took a survey about what type of retiree I was ... I fell into the easy glider category ... has nothing really to do with age ... more attitude to life
Easy gliders have worked all their lives and decided that retirement is the time to relax. They take each day as it comes.
An EASY GLIDER? Someone who enjoys unscheduled time letting each day unfold.
Easy gliders enjoy unscheduled time and like their daily schedule "to go with the flow."
Pretty much sums me up!Was happy to do Freedom 55 - now need to figure out what to do for the next 30+ years! LOL

Another foggy day, but mild at least.

Morning everyone.
Working from home today...a bit tedious as I don't have full access to things from work, so things are much slower running than usual.
Please weigh in on this for me, you don't need to take side, just your thoughts would be much appreciated.
We have the in-laws over right now and our place is a mess since they are here helping us paint.
I'm working from home because I couldn't find my wallet this morning. In all the confusion and mess, it was misplaced.
We had a "loud and heated discussion" out in the dark, on the driveway, at 5am.
My decision: I wasn't going to drive into the city (100+km) without my wallet (drivers license, credit cards, cash, etc.)
Her rebuttal: Just drive in, and we can ask my in-laws to find my wallet later during day, or later tonight.
Additional note: the Lady is not a morning person, so she normally sleeps on the commute into the city in the mornings.
End result: I'm here working from home, and she reluctantly drove herself into work this morning (ended up starting her day 10 minutes later than usual at work)
Have I found my wallet yet? See the SPOILER TAB

Good morning every1. Long time no see.
I'm feeling a little better, finally, but see the surgeon tomorrow. Fingers crossed.

@danger_dan, in all honesty I'm siding with you. Not having your license while driving? Not a chance, with the hoops you'd have had to jump through had anything happened along the way. No money? No cards? You'd feel nekked! I might suggest a stylish lime green wallet from now on? hahaha...!
@22hicks, so nice to see you on here, you've been on my mind and I'm embarassed to say that I never did fire off an email to you...yet (being the operative word). All the very best news with your surgeon tomorrow, that's what I'm wishing for you!! I loved the picture you posted this morning; too cute!
@GoodBoy , pretty much sums things up for us, too. DH retired in 2000, we've done our share of travelling, driving out to the west coast, back home through the upper states so that I could see Lambeau Field...Mall of the Americas.., our Mediterranean cruise, New York at Christmas, the cherry blossom festival in Washington, and still more to go now that I'm able to walk again. Not sure where, though. We were also chatting about considering volunteering, but that requires an actual committment of 'scheduled' time, and I don't think we're there, yet. As you said: much time to figure all of that out. Fingers crossed!
Well, a nothing important day here, another Saturday like any other day,I'm slowly collecting clothes (a few even have tags), handbags, etc that I no longer have a use for to donate to St Vincent de Paul, so I'll spend some more time going through closets and one day the boxes downstairs. I'm more minimalist than I ever was, so they'll be well stocked from us!
Toodles, everyone, have a grrrreat Monday!!

@danger_dan no licence on you should not be driving. God forbid that something should go wrong.? But that’s just me being paranoid. You made the correct decision don’t second guess it.

Don't worry about an email @Lynn49 . I'm not spending much time on the computer these days, and feel badly not responding to them in a timely manner.
I'm with the others @danger_dan , no licence, no car.
And, with the threat of freezing rain this afternoon, your decision was a good one.

OMG! When you said you were having your friend for supper-I was going to quote from the Silence of the Lambs and ask it you were going to have your friend "with a nice Chianti " but I thought better of it. If you had really decided on Chianti-I swear I would have choked!Last edited by avoncallingu; Mon, Jan 22nd, 2018 at 11:06 PM.

I have been missing the past couple of days - I had my own fall down our icy stairs last night. Unbelievable pain but luckily nothing broken -but I do have a concussion. So have to restrict my computer use.
Best wishes to everyone!
