Lynn, Avon, and others - those links of mine don't show up for me, either.
However, I get fooled when I post them, because they show a different format and I always double check to make sure it's a good link. BUT there is some gremlin at work, because later it gets changed.
Sorry about that, I will go back to no pics.

Had no interest in seeing McCain's funeral, though I heard snippets of some remarks.
Yesterday, I watched bits and pieces of Aretha's funeral, what a send-off it was for the Queen.
Nurse came this morning, checked the wounds on my leg, the older one is healing well, the new scrape is superficial.
BP 120/80, pulse 36, O2 98
Lungs clear, which is good. I have this cold hanging on, though.
Our scale is broken, the new one hasn't come yet, and nurse forgot hers.
So I haven't been weighed in over a week, eek!
Hope everyone is having a great Saturday.
Milan will come over to help with some things here tomorrow.
He starts school Tuesday.Last edited by Natalka; Sat, Sep 1st, 2018 at 07:39 PM.

G'night, everyone.
This has been our last day at camp. September has every weekend booked with something...so this is it. Kind-of sad, seems we roll along, then boom., August is over.
@Natalka , oh, tbe digs aimed at trump in those eulogies were incredible. Unfortunately, once again, preaching to the choir. Love hoe hus Dauhter ended hers with: (I paraphrase)..."NO ONE had to make America 'great again', it was ALWAYS great!"
As for Arethra's send-off....meh..so she could sing. She obviousky had little regard fir tge animals that were killed so she could "toss off" those fur coats she always wore at her concerts.Last edited by Lynn49; Sat, Sep 1st, 2018 at 08:56 PM.

Lynn, too bad you have to close down so soon!
I didn't know you were anti-fur; anti-leather, too?
I guess I learned a lot more about her than I knew, she did a lot of charitable works quietly, like funding schools, kids to go to uni, music programs, etc.
One of the speakers I really thought was interesting at Aretha's funeral was Rev. Professor Michael Eric Dyson.
This is a part of his remarks about Trump:

Cabbie, my meds worked and my BrotherR and I did go to the fair in Paris. Unbelievable series of roads closed and a bad accident meant that we took an incredible tour of our beautiful countryside. It was a great experience at the fair real country feel. Forgot about all the different "contests" - art-flower arrangements - vegetables-ducks-an ENORMOUS and very vocal rooster.
I was exhausted and my feet hurt when I got home. But I took Tootie for a walk and met 2 young students who had just arrived here two days ago from India.
I asked them where they were living and when they told me, I was upset. I had walked by that place , unexpectedly, yesterday and was almost motivated to call the Realtor who had it listed "for lease". It is in awful shape -the roof a mess!
They were really sweet young women. I hate to see them taken advantage of by some unscrupulous company which is just looking to rake money in from young people who have no idea what a landlord is responsible for. We chatted quite a while and I have invited them to join us at church tomorrow. They were happy to think that they might be meeting new and friendly people here in Canada. They are going to call me in the morning if they are still interested in going and I will give them a ride.
Now, wrt Aretha Franklin- sorry, @Lynn49 . I was a complete "Motown" teenager! She was and is an icon for anyone who grew up with her music. The Queen of Soul!
Because of timing, I didn't see Senator McCain's funeral but I have nothing but respect for that man. Obama was , at one point, considering asking him to be his VP. I did see highlights -if you can call it that, and was impressed with all of the comments made -especially the moving speech by his daughter.
Well, tomorrow I have to give a summary of what we have achieved so far with the search for a minister -which is, basically, to have 1 meeting.
Then I will be driving to Hamilton to pick up my friend who is coming home from BC.
Oh, I have to tell you a funny story. When I use my tablet, I usually take off my glasses as I can see better. Well, last night, as I finished with it, I checked around, but couldn't find them-looked under the couch -in the little waste basket beside the couch - then expanded the search into the bathroom-kitchen -panic beginning to set in, in case I stepped on them, by mistake - then feeling absolutely foolish, gave out a great "guffaw "-I was WEARING THEM THE WHOLE TIME! Time for bed it was, indeed!
Well, having said that-time for bed, it IS, indeed.Last edited by avoncallingu; Sat, Sep 1st, 2018 at 11:28 PM.

It is so late, I should head up to bed soon.
I taped McCains' entire funeral Sat morning, then fast forwarded to the people I wanted to hear speak.
So glad I listened to every tearful, emotional, feisty word Meagan McCain said as she honoured her Dad's memory.
Barack ( swoon! ) Obama is still such a class act! He and George Bush both recited the same E. Hemingway quote in their eulogy ....
“Today is only one day in all the days that will ever be. But what will happen in all the other days that ever come can depend on what you do today "
They both inserted amusing comments reflecting on their interactions with Senator McCain, who apparently never ever lost his sense of humour and was always able to laugh at himself.
I had no idea that John McCains' Mom Roberta was still alive?? She is 106 years old...her twin sister died in 2011.
Arethas' funeral I only saw snippets of because anytime a singer started I'd start bawling! Fantasias' performance had me so goosebumpy!!
Same with Jennifer Hudson. I noticed that the Clinton's had attended both funeral services....that cannot be easy...I am sure many others also attended both.
I made the mistake of watching a snippet of the evening news and it ruined my night! ( lol )
Basically Trump tweeted another falsehood! How can THAT still be news???
He seems to believe he has Chrystia Freeland on the Nafta ropes eh? We'll see.... he insults, lies and bullies his way out of or into a deal....
oh and he threatened Congress not to interfere!
I have more faith in Chrystias' negotiating skills.

Hi, all!
Yep, Nat, packing up...seems tge summer lingers so nucely until August, and boom! It's gone.
I am anti-fur, but not anti-leather.
Avon, I was alao a mowtown fanatic, but Erethra never made an impression on me. I didn't watch her tribute.
I did, however watch tge entire McCain memorial service....like you, Walks, I really enjoyed all thise stories Lieberman, Bush, Obama relayec...esp loved Obama's line about MccCain getting the last laugh, having he and Bush publically saying nice things about him.Oh, and Meghan's eulogy! Good on her!
Ok, on to more packing!
Enjoy the day, everyone!

Good morning!
Had another crazy night with my stoopid legs... My cold has gotten worse, what a bummer!
Milan will come over to help me with some things, and to do some shopping. Husband does well with the shopping, but won't go to Superstore. They have lake whitefish, which are hard to find here, so I will have Milan buy some, so we have it for both Christmases.
@flemeth hope you have a wonderful trip, and that you have safe travels!

Spent the weekend in Leamington baseballing. They have some incredible restaurants out that way. Almost worth the trip back just to eat! Didn't make it down to Point Pelee though, not enough time in the day. I would not go back to the hotel though, it wasn't worth even half the price we were forced to pay. Sad that baseball is over for another season
Tryouts begin next week.

I see there is no reason to get up early and post here on a holiday Monday.😊 And many of you are off on wonderful adventures! Have a great day!
Today, I am meeting with a couple wrt their wedding ceremony.
Yesterday was drive, drive, drive and then a lovely family supper at BrotherB's house. My younger nephew was so proud of himself- it was his first, "Can I shop for my own clothes?" adventure. He is turning into a very handsome and TALL young man.
We're supposed to get thunderstorms today. Mother Nature sweeping away summer so she can sneak fall in on us.
I have been binge watching "This Is Us," shows and last night was a series of ones I hadn't seen before.
I love that show!
Well, to all of you who labour, Happy Labour Day! Must get this party started, although Tootie is snoozing this morning.
Have a wonderful day!
