Good morning!
A sad day for little Preeda, the wee thing broke all her stitches (neutered last Wednesday), because she just couldn't adjust to her cone, wouldn't settle, kept jumping on and falling off furniture, while Suda pretty much contentedly slept most of the time. Our DD took Preeda back to her vet this morning, the gals said it can happen to very active kittens, so she'll of course need surgery again, and they suggested they may use staples this time. Poor wee muffin.
Rain, rain yesterday, all night and this morning which is killing the snow out there. Jenny isn't pleased that her preferred piddle areas (snow, ice) are disappearing.
Enjoy the day, everyone!
She's in surgery now, only the surface stitches broke, the inner ones held thank goodness...Last edited by Lynn49; Mon, Apr 8th, 2019 at 11:27 AM.

@Lynn49 Good thoughts broadcast to Preeda. I am headed to bed...in the middle of the day! DH is off to the gym and everything is under control. So..."me" time? What does it say about "me" that my preferred gift to myself is sleep? Going semi-comatose... See everyone on the "up" side.

Thank you, @wendymac , she came through her surgery nicely, is stapled together...gosh, that makes her sound like a stuffed toy...and DD will pick her up after work. Shell be on an antibiotic as another precaution, now they'll just have to keep a very active kitten still!

Good morning!
Just waiting for someone to take me for a walk. I don't have a physio session til the aft, and that is group exercise, but I wanted to walk now, on my new knees!
Had the knee injections yesterday after lunch, two nurses watching the Dr do it. She did right knee first, it wasn't terrible, but the left hurt a lot more. I asked why, she apologized and said she may have hit a nerve. When I responded to the pain, the mail nurse came up to the head of the bed, put his arm on me and calmed me down.
Dr. said it would probably hurt a lot when the freezing came out, and actually it was ok in the evening. They drugged me well for the night, so I was okay. I was up a lot during the night and stood to walk a bit each time, all was good.
Made the big trip to the washroom this morning, I was a bit instead, but it wasn't as painful as usual - surprized the aide who walked me, she didn't know I had the cortisone.
More to tell, but I will come back. I will get my shoes on and do stretches before a walk.
Have a great day, a magnificent Monday!

Oh gosh, @walkonby, with all this Preeda news, I'd forgotten all about Hamlet. I hope you came through the "shoving him into the cage" grapplings with little or no permanent scarring. Is he home resting now?
A little different, but I thought of you just now:

Poor Preeda! Poor your daughter's pocketbook!
Perhaps a little gravol or some other kind of "sleep inducer" might keep her quiet. What about a -how dare I say it?- crate for a few days. Just inform the neighbours that the yowling does not mean that any cat is in danger. Or a cat sitter for a few days??
How's everything in the State of Denmark, Hamlet? Hope it's not rotten.
I was up-perky-ready to see my financial advisor when I got an e-mail saying the time I had booked by e-mail had already been assigned.
So-all dressed and nowhere to go. But I had been meaning to go to Walmart after to get some squash and a couple of new undergarments considering that my torso seems to have expanded over the winter.
All was well. But suddenly, I just got the most blinding migraine. Had to get out, rush home and have a small sandwich -take a headache pull and get in bed. The weather is changing again, but the cashier said she has a few customers who can't stand the fluorescent lights. That has happened to me before. She said one fellow wears special dark glasses as he is in danger of having a seizure.
So the rest of the things on my "to do" list just got bumped down a notch.
@Natalka -so glad you were able to get your injections. Sounds like they are helping.
Will read your catch-ups later.Last edited by avoncallingu; Mon, Apr 8th, 2019 at 03:07 PM.

My morning walk - down the whole hallway to the entrance of the ward, pulled a uey and walked back to my bed - with NO stop. I was floored! Nothing nurt badly, just a niggle in my left knee, but I was out of breath.
I took 22 pills this morning, gah. Most are new, scariest is methotrexate, yes the cancer drug. A drug I avoided for over 20 years because it scared me so.
This morn, an aide came and was pinning on a red sheet to the dividing curtain. I jokingly asked if it said Beware of Natalie! Well she turned very pink, and said - kinda.... I asked to read it, so she handed it to me, I started asking questions, so she went to get a more experienced aide who came to talk with me and explain things. It's a drug precaution to alert staff, since I am on the chemo drug. It has to do with it being excreted through urine. I sure wish someone had explained it to me earlier, because I sure didn't want to be putting staff at risk. However they say they are used to it, it is not uncommon.
After lunch, went to do standing group, which means exercises at the barre which is past the entrance to our Ward, in front of huge windows. First time doing them, some quite hard, but I did more than fine. It was the left knee which almost gave out trying the last one - I make a noise when I am in trouble, and one PT was there at my left, the other a patient to away to my right - it was amazing how in seconds I had these two women ready to hold me and ease me to sitting.
So much new today - had a TB test done around 7 am, on my inner forearm. It will be read Wednesday. The Dr is just very thorough, ruling it out.
Now just waiting for the call to see the specialist, they couldn't give a time.
@walkonby - hoping Hamlet is doing okay. Big scritches from me, please!

Welll....they're pretty spring colours, Nat! Um, you're just missing something in pink...perhaps your staff could do something about that....
@avoncallingu, although I don't get migraines like you do, when I'm in our RCSS, I get very dizzy, almost disoriented and have to keep hold of the cart. Perhaps that cashier wasn't too far off wrt the lights, coupled with the barometer change?
I hope you're feeling better this evening. I've also noticed that when RCSS sometimes dims the lights it's so much better for me. Anyone else affected by store lights?
As to Preeda, she's home now with a 'soft' collar on so she can't hurt her tummy, and no, no extra cost, the surgery today was all covered under "follow-up care". Just the bottle of antibiotic was extra.
Have a great evening, everyone!
From the Chelsey Flower Show in London..2018..it's just a happy photo!
