they automated the sorting of 75% of the letter mail so they do not need letter carriers to spend time sorting inside now. That way they can give you more work on the street to make up those hrs not spent sorting. No logic, just $$, it is always about saving $$. I think Ottawa is already converted over to the new method.

Oh I forgot how cute Bunny was!!! Sparky still looks like he is up to no good, lol!!! So it wasn't parcels that I was talking about, it was regular walking down the street door to door bringing the mail, THAT type of delivery. Plenty of customers are accustomed to a delivery of as early as 8:30 a.m, but that now will not happen.
They are now forcing the carriers to begin their shift much later ( now they will be aggravated by the a.m. commute more) and of course finish later too. If you are lucky enough to get a route that will have the earlier time to start, it is not too bad, but that " second wave" of employees will not even be able to enter the facility till nearly 10:00 or later.
So that means they finish at 6:00 p.m., then have to fight evening traffic home.
It is a silly plan, lol

CP prices are NOT the issue, it is the time of day that customers will be getting deliveries, Oh my! Many who are " lucky " enough to be at the beginning of the route will be sad to see nothing in their boxes before 11:30 a.m. ( that would be a good day I think) and the ones at the end of some routes will be 5:00p.m. ( on a regular daily basis) It will suck for businesses too, no more special treatment.

My furbabies are all well. Not as many finches now, ( maybe 17 left ) along with just the one cat and 2 dogs, DS took his cat to live with him... finally!

You know we have always just given the dogs that kielbasa, so it just felt wrong feeding DS and DH that, even though it is actually " people " food, like the type of food that Sparky gets now. Funny that he left the ham in the dish at first eh? Most dogs eat the meat first and leave the rice and veg. have a great day my dear!
