I'm thinking about getting pet insurance as well. My dog already has issues and I know these wont be covered but just in case something else happens I want some sort of back up.

For algae i've heard copper pennies help with that. I've heard it used in birdbaths so in theory couldn't it be applied the same way with a rain barrel?
