Hi lynn49 I am glad you are feeling better. My Christmas shopping is coming along great so far. I usually like to give back to our community that is facing difficulty during the holidays so right now I have a family that I am sponsoring to buy stuff to make there Christmas great so I have to start early because I am also responsible for a nice Christmas dinner. Then I have my husband side of the family to shop for. Hope your Baking a and Christmas is going good. Have a great day

The relaxed attire around our Thanksgiving table this year was nothing compared to the practical joke I was planning on my family that backfired!
I had 2 pkgs of turkey drumsticks that I roasted and I was gonna place them alongside the roasted bird as I set it on the table so it would look like he had 6 legs....but when I unwrapped the bird from the solid non see through plastic white wrapper this utility bird had NO LEGS! Yup! Both of them had been hacked off? Usually I buy utility birds because they are much cheaper and just missing a wing tip, or a whole wing, but this was a first!
We all still had a chuckle over it.

yes, it is JUST the 5 of us this year for dinner, so that means pj's worn at the table maybe? ha ha ....Oh Lynn! I am watching game 1 of the Astros/Red Sox post season series and Altuve ( you know that adorable 5'5" 2nd basemen for Houston? He just hit his 3rd solo HR in the game!! Adorable face....half the size of most of the MLB players and super talented!

I've actually had bouts of energy these last few weeks to tackle long ignored cleaning around here. Feels good. DH and I are really chomping at the bit for the Hockey Season to begin! We have our leaf jerseys all clean and ready to wear! hee hee

Thanks hon. I'm glad your foot is healing well. A few more days rest will probably go a long way towards a relatively pain - free long w/end. I sure hope you have good weather. I can't agree more, this summer sucked. Personally, maybe because I'm not feeling great, but I'm finding it really cold. 8 & 9 degrees when I get up in the mornings. In the sun today, it wasn't bad, but by late afternoon, it was cloudy & windy. I'm in sweat pants, t-shirt, and heavy hooded sweat shirt. Nuts for August. I guess I shouldn't complain, esp. with what the Texans are going through.
I'm feeling a little better today, even got half the house cleaned. The past 4 days were really not good at all. I'm not looking forward to surgery, but I wish it was mid-Sept. instead of mid-Oct. Just want to get it over with, and start the healing process.
It's almost bedtime. Just watching the end of the Jays game, then I'll start to get ready.

Glad to hear there's no fracture, but that doesn't really make it feel any better does it. I know what you mean about those x-ray tables, gurneys and exam 'beds'. Everything seems to hurt more when you're lying on them.
It seemed like you were getting the run-around today, but I guess it all worked out in the end, learning it wasn't broken.
Now, do I have to tell you to be a good girl, so you can heal (no pun intended) for the long w/end. Take care of yourself hon.

Thanks lynn ,always wonderful hearing from you my friend .hope doc will get that walking boot help u walk without baring your weight all on your foot .especially if your having too much pain.im doing good left my house Saturday morning at 2:00 am drove to Gander airport .got flight out to Ontario arrive at airport in Ontario at 7:30 am got rental car and start my mini vacation lol ohhh i should say shopping vacation.spend more time in stores then i was out stores lol busy few days forsure left Toronto Pearson airport 11:00pm and got back Gander 2:30am arrive home at 5:00 am time lay down for few hours and once up .. started unpacking my 3 extra large suitecases .noticed message on one suitecase that air canada stuck to tag saying heavy load in suitecase i laugh at message but it was so true .darn thing was heavy heavy rest week im off work on vacation..not sure if ill take next week too. depends on weather next week .Take extra care yourself sweetie and try have good week

DD had no idea he was that close to being done! Sooooo, as they came through the front door last night and after she laid on the floor to snuggle the dogs, which seemed like FOREVER! I finally but coyly asked her if she had any laundry up in her room to go grab it...Rats! She had just done all her laundry. o.k. plan B then, I ask her to just pop in our bedroom and grab whatever is in our hamper, so as she toddles upstairs and I hear the " Ohhhh! wow! " come out of her mouth! ha ha She said " it is soooo big! " But so pretty! Anyways, she already has the entire bookshelf that is the headboard all filled up. Got her new bedding set this a.m. ( well her b'day IS next month so THAT is my excuse.....ha ha . )

ipad? I lost my mind trying to type on a tablet a few times and will never return to using one! The bed is completed and in DD's room! Wait till she gets in from work and sees it!!

It is pretty bad when I am responding to your visitor message in July! We have been spending most of our time at our cabin and the wifi is pretty much non existent, We have had a rough spring with wind storms and have lost trees, our dock and one small aluminum boat and a trailer due to wind and trees falling on things. thank goodness for insurance but man it has been a long summer of cleaning up.
I too will avoid the political thread when the odd time I am on. We lost our step grandson last month due to an overdose and I have just been changing a few things in my life and coming on here a bit less was one of the changes. Nothing bad about anything here I am just trying to be more present and do more meaningful things! I do miss the banter!

yikes!! Power outages are happening in plenty of areas. Bummer about the physio clinic being affected. Too funny that the Sears store " was o.k. " because ironically they are not. The movie was as predictably cute as I expected it to be...plus I had an entire row of kids sitting in front of me all from 1 or 2 families! One was cuter than the other, their squeaky little voices asking questions....ha ha

Thanks hon. I do appreciate your concern & prayers. Pain isn't too bad right now, just discomfort. Yes, I see the surgeon tomorrow, so we'll see how that goes, although I think I know what she's going to say.
It may sound silly, but I'm worried too. If in fact I need surgery, what about Jake; how will I look after myself once home again, etc., etc., etc.

Hi Lynn.. yes I been very busy lately.. volunteering with Fire Department and Firettes ..plus got extra work load put on me at work .. I normally get home most nites late .time I get things ready for next work day I'm exhausted especially with hot weather were having .. not complaining just say lol .. hope your hubby is doing good since surgery.. hope sweetie your doing well too .. guess your spending alot time campingwith nice weather everyone is having ..will take good care yourself sweetie and enjoy weather ☀️️������

Wanna know how I resisted eating that scrumptious bird meat? I slept from 4 p.m. till 9 p.m ha ha ha !!! Honestly, I have no idea how I zonked right out though because initially I was just trying to rest my cheek bum ( sciatica ) and the memory foam topper on our bed works wonders. So we are ALL night owls now! I'll be up well into the a.m. for sure.

hi!! I have always stuffed my birds the old fashioned way, directly inside the bird, I never knew there was any new danger now about it? However, because I found these nifty long gauze bags ( about the length of a knee high stocking ) it makes getting all of the stuffing out that much easier, no bits clinging inside the carcass anywhere.
I even stuff the other end ( the neck ) you can get plenty of stuffing in that spot!! ha ha
Guys are asleep, DD at work....you know it is SO tempting to slice off a piece of that bird now and have the crisp skin melt in my mouth eh? arghh! I won't though, staying strong.
