Thanks Lynn. I been really nervous on snow & ice for the past few years, after I broke my back. My worst fear was falling & re-injuring it. With no weight baring for the next few months, maybe I won't have to. With any luck, winter will be almost over. I have those spiky things too, and have used them for the past few years. Will be doing so always in the future.

Lynn! yes even without the coupons the sale prices were 80% discounted. Imagine for the people who actually use this brand( Almay) regularly! They must have had sticker shock , but in a good way. So are ya still " soup-ing "? You made some decent progress with it so far, hope it is still working. The guys were informed last night of a SHIFT change for the next 2 weeks!! They are furious as am I but nothing can be done.
Poor Mac will have to TTC and Go Bus it to work either to or from ( or God forbid BOTH ways ) depending on what times her shifts are. There is just not enough time now for her to request a change, she have to give more than 2 weeks notice. Bummer!!

Had 2 do 2 messages; kept telling me it was 2 long.
My friend that's been helping me up & down the stairs, driving me to the hospital, etc. had to have surgery today, & will be in the hospital for a wk. They removed his gall bladder. One good thing, he's in the same hospital that I'll be at tomorrow, so when I'm done, I'l be able to go up and see him B4 I come home. I'm pleased about that, 'cause otherwise, I wouldn't get to see him, for who knows how long. Anyhow, I'm going to say good night. Not quite bed time, but I've an early rise in the morning, so want to hit the sack in good time.

ew, poops to the no eating before the test, been there more times than I like to recall ( the no eating part I mean ).
So this place smells like a bakery! Made macaroons last night and these funny ( I'll call them a thumbprint cookie base ) with deliciousness filled in the well
( mixture of chopped pecans, dates, maple syrup, bla ,bla ) and then this a.m. I used the leftover filling to make " barely there! " mini tarts! I just cut the premade shells in half and re-rolled them to an itty bitty size....lol!! I have this lovely pan that makes mini muffins so I placed the dough into that, filled and baked.
I have been staring at this 796 ml can of Pumpkin puree for days trying to use it for something yummy, but every recipe looks so good I just can't decide.

I meant to use it at Thanksgiving, that never happened. Oh well today I am going to make a batch of mincemeat filling! never did it before, ( just like those Biscotti I made yesterday, just felt like trying it ) but this has no beef suet, so a vegan version BUT with spiced rum as my choice of booze! I'll bet this is over the allowed number of words!! lol!! I knew it, split it into 2!

yippee!! JUST read about GS getting DJ!! ( black kitty!! ) I know you are not really a cat person but isn't that The " Cat's Meow " that your DD went from zero to an Ark starter kit in just a couple of days?! A miracle. I am overjoyed for all of them ( and you who gets to spoil 2 more furbabies!! )

The kitten is Angel Kitty, from Toy Story That Time Forgot - tv Christmas special which came out last year - which you should watch with or without your grandson! Her lines are all Christmas-related wisdom!

Our Taffy cat is really doing well - 'almost' herself. It's amazing how much stronger she has gotten in the past few days. It's still a shock to hold her, because all you feel is spine and pelvic bones - so she's still fragile. She is happy, wants lots of affection, and follows me around like a puppy. She wants to mother Vader, but Vader still says no - but at least isn't hissing at her mom anymore.

Yes DO get some answers on the fatigue!! How is your heart? (other than kind That is one area that sends warning signs in the form of fatigue.

I was never a fanatic about unplugging " phantom " things that are plugged in sucking hydro but it just irks me that we go out of the way to conserve for say 9 months straight, the BIG pulls are anything that heats ( oven, dryer, ANY irons, kettles ), we buy energy efficient appliances and on the list goes. Then WHAM next cycle they get an increase approved! We do expect in the summer that our A/C will make a bigger bill for a couple of months but THAT is not up for debate. Comfort comes first. (oh and I JUST answered your pm btw )

I was skipping along doing any and all cooking/baking/washer/dryer chores during any day or time in the week, ( naturally , duh? since I am home right? ) and somehow I was oblivious to the fact that the hydro meter was whirring up at the top rate. I never thought it would make that much difference BUT when I saw my equal billing amount go up ( the increase in rates caused the that too not just from our usage ) but the end of the year final bill was a sticker shock!
They set the estimated monthly bill amount based on past bills and I guess ours was set too low so they tacked the overage that we had actually used onto the last bill. ( ouch!) I will just see if this makes any difference. Think anyone will mind eating Christmas dinner in the dark? ha ha ha

my day JUST turned into glorious! As you may remember I am staging a protest with hydro here. No laundry doing or stove/oven cooking until 7 p.m. So when I just got back home now with DD I was going to start right after 7:00 to cook the guys their work dinners, but DH already cleaned up the leftovers from the fridge packing enough to resemble 2 dinners! Hooray! Now I can cook once they leave, and I can even bake cupcakes in the wee hours if I so choose! laundry will be humming as well. ha ha a no pressure evening. Gosh I have been drooling over the latest issue of Cdn. Living recipes, probably why the mention of cupcakes set me off.

shhhhh...but DH said we are redoing the kitchen floor!! Hmmm, I said huh? did I miss the memo? ( and you and I know what that leads to!!! ) a new kitchen?? ha ha ha , no....restraint and common sense says no, not yet, BUT I want to!! So IF anything like that happens, THAT will be our Xmas gift. As far as decorating for the season, no the bug has not bit me just yet. I will repeat what I did last year, no tree ( cat issues ) and just place all my vases that I filled back out and string lights around.
