oh ninna! ty for the rep. We ( DH and I both ) have strayed away from the weight loss, he has not done his GF part at all for 2 full months, me I have only eaten a few things breadlike but that is all it takes for me, I suffer terribly afterwards ( inflammatory flareups), I seem to have the same problem every time we start a plan where I do all the work planning, shopping and cooking it all, even though I enjoy doing most of it, eventually it takes it toll, and I give up. Once he sees there is nothing made he slips back into eating fast food, or buys processed things. The book is great, the GF IS the way to go, but I have to find the strength to begin again.

Thanks for the well-wishes. I am so happy to no longer be pregnant. And yes, I sleep less now, but I can actually sleep when I lay down, unlike in November/December! The little guy is keeping me very busy, but he is starting to enjoy tummy time and mat time on his playmat, so I am starting to see the first signs of light at the end of the tunnel as far as this guy getting a bit more independent... and I'll take all of the hopeful signs I can! Hopefully I'll be able to get online a wee bit more in the near future, for my own sanity as much as anything else

Just logged back on after my baby hiatus. My little guy arrived 12/27, weighing in at 7lbs 3oz. It was a bit of a crazy day (snowstorm and fast labour), but I'm so glad he's here. I hope 2013 is off to a good start for you! I'll share more details once I get my LO settled and fed.. typing one-handed is hard!

thanks ninna, DS has it ( sort of? ) but he seems fine at the moment. he said the campus has been hit with plenty of sickies last week and still this week.

Yeah, it's kind of crazy. My potential boss picked me up at my hotel and we got to "chat" on the way. Then I had an hour presentation (an hour and a half by the time questions were done). I then met with possible colleagues thinking we would just chat a bit, but they grilled me. I had lunch with one of the coworkers, and she showed me all their facilities. Then another meeting with possible colleagues with more grilling. It wasn't 8 hours sitting there, but you're on display the entire time, trying to make a good impression and to sound smart when surrounded by a bunch of super smart PhDs.

I don't know when I find out about the job, but quite honestly I didn't get a great vibe about it... it was a very internally competitive work environment. I was ready to change provinces for it until I got there and experienced it. Great in theory, doesn't fit my personality. I think this interview basically taught me I don't really want to stay in the academic route.

Thanks for the best wishes - not sure I got them quite in time though. I feel like an 8 hour job interview should never be allowed! Oy! And I am in Waterloo right now yes, but I was in Guelph to visit an aunt-in-law (to-be).

My best friend did her Masters degree at Western, and I went to visit her once. Not a bad city you have there, but she always complained heavily about the transit system
