that does sound like the best place to donate to then ( the church) , our old church used to have a small food bank set up but we could only help a few families in the area that were near the church, still it was something.

I would really be offended by their attitude. Isn't helping the same whatever way the food arrives to them? I think deciding to donate it to a church food bank makes way more sense, they also know their own community clientele who are in need. Just so sad though about the other.
