Oh, Hicks, it was all too wonderful!! But truth be told, I'm actually d-o-n-e with all the rich foods, drinks...okay, except for the Rumchatta and Amarula that I still need to get through before January first. So it'll be another season of dieting like I did from Christmas to May '14 when I lost almost 50 lbs before I broke my leg and spent the last 2 1/2 years putting it all back on...probably. I'm too scared to step on the scale right now.
Is your friend out of the hospital? How is he doing?
I sure hope you have time to relax and decompress before your life gets so busy again....big hugs!!!

tee hee....you know I just don't want the fresh foods to spoil....so I get in there and mash them together disguised as a meal. I actually overbought when it came to some things for Christmas, turned out we needed about half the amount ( zucchini, bell peppers, tomatoes ) and the ones remaining were calling out to me!!

hey, hey hey!! ( must be said in Fat Albert style ) sooooo. relaxing morning so far. DD doesn't start till after3 today, massage/physio for us after that. It felt weird getting up so early with no where to go? So you know me...I cooked stuff. ha ha Have a fab day hicks.

Thanks for the rep Hicks!!! Yule was meh and I am already turkeyed out. We are spending today hiding in the house, munching on snacks and watching tv. Too cold to go out snowmobiling which was our plans for the day.

Thank you, Hicks...it was just the best! We're so blessed to have our DD and her family so close! On the down-side...since dinner was at their home...no left-overs here!!

the heat is so oppressive sometimes that we wander the malls just to get some exercise and
stay cool at the same time...it's a different lifestyle, no need to look for the sun, it finds you.

here in the U.S. they don't do 'boxing day' ,black Friday is the big sale day
and of course Cyber Monday, small business Tuesday and any day it rains in Florida
is a shopping day. Shopping , consumerism, materialism ,whatever you call it, is a national obsession.
It's easy to get caught up especially when you have the attention span of a small woodland creature
and are mesmerized by shiny objects the way I am.

If company eats the treats I labour to make then I'm happy! I have had my fair share of baked goods not turn out perfect and the family is pretty forgiving, they eat them up just the same. Just a few more sleeps and it is Christmas!! We are doing our gift unwrapping on the 24th....probably around 1 a.m. ( just to say it is the 25th!! ) then everyone gets to sleep in on the 25th....well except me of course I am an incurable morning person, always will be....ha ha.

in regards to the pecan cookies, my DS said he makes sure he has a glass of milk at the ready when he eats any because he says sometimes he mouth breathes at the very moment the cookie is going in and the icing sugar lodges in his throat making him choke.... ha ha ha , I should post a warning with them, but honestly I love them, doI've not choked yet and I don't find them dry really....probably because my fav. nuts are pecans!!
