You got a small bird at FB......me too. On Thursday I asked a grocer guy at FB if there were any smaller birds ( the ones in the bin were all 9-11 kg.) He said no and then about 10 minutes later he finds me in the other end of the store and he's grinning carrying a turkey. Gets up to me and said it is just over 4 kg! JUST what I wanted. He searched in the back through a whack of them for me.
I have a much larger bird for the Xmas meal but I wanted this smaller one to try a new recipe where you stuff it with red pears ( skins left on ) and chestnuts! Two birds on the 25th along with sides and desserts....no wonder I keep gaining weight. lol

I suppose we are smarter cookies than many. S & H fees are sometimes more money than the item we place in the cart to buy. How does that make any sense? lol

I could not agree with you more, some stores get a bad rep as expensive BUT if you shop the sales, buy discontinued items, use coupons etc it all helps. With the huge shops I did between Oct 2-9 to maximize the AM earned at Metro, well we are stocked up! ha ha I was thrilled to buy 2 turkeys ( 1 for Thanksgiving the other for Christmas ) during that promo, thank goodness there was room in the freezer.

yes! Barely there clothing! Also the t-shirts themselves are sometimes made using the thinnest fabrics, you can see right through them!

hey a spurge with a cake is the least of the worries, I'm so happy your heart and your day were shared with your loved ones. DH and I watched the Super Bowl even though we did not care who won. I made up a delicious cold pasta salad ( for him, I'm not allowed that carb rich dish ) and DH made a beef barley soup! Talk about nontraditional foods to have during a game! It was fun and totally NON alcoholic.
