nice to have someone understand the cons of living right across from schools. We have two! A Catholic and a regular one. Traffic is a nightmare during those early morning and early afternoon hours. Our neighbour right across from us got himself some traffic cones as parents would use his driveway to turn around in! Don't mess with this guy on the corner house, he's retired and welcomes confrontation...lol

oh do I ever know that feeling at NF when my grocery bill sometimes goes past $150.00 . I Those are the shops that I do a double take in disbelief!

We've always bought so many clam-shells of berries every week, plus those bulk containers of pitted fruits that DS loves like peaches, nectarines and plums. When I was dieting the sales were always there! Not anymore. Now we simply pass on buying if we feel the prices are too high. This is happening more and more with other products as well. We are running out of alternative brands and options...lol

that deal you scored on the strawberries at SDM was great! I refused to pay what they were asking for strawberries at Freshco and NF on Saturday , we went with cheap raspberries instead for this week! lol

I was unaware you have a great Green Thumb! I have more in common with Frualbigmama in that I tend to unintentionally kill plants that start out healthy. ha ha

isn't it a blessing when smaller plumbing repairs can be handled by our Mr Fix It's ? My guy is the same, hates to dole out $$ if he can manage the repair himself.

aw ty about the window Easter decor. I just love the promise of Spring that comes with Easter. Dollar store was awesome for prices, I put back quite a number of items before I settled on the ceramic bunnies. The main thing was not to have anything in that window that will melt as the sun beats down all day. DH liked the decor and said he thinks I am still a kid at heart!

we've had THE worst luck with stones flying up on the hwy and chipping various windshields of ours over a few vans now. One of our old vans there was a crack all the way across the whole windshield but DH was so pissed off about having to pay for repair so we never did!! Just let it die when the van died. This last van ( 2015 ) was still very new when it got dinged TWICE in the same week!

lol!!! Did ya like my response on " why no cell phone? " . I should've given my Mom's response when asked if her hubby and her wanted one at 93 and 90 years old respectively . Basically it was " who the heck would we call? Most of our friends and all of our siblings are gone and we're just not that important! " lol!!!

the Barbie Doll days are so long gone for us. Our DD had a small window of interest in all things Barbie and then suddenly she went tomboy for a few years. In our garage I'm sure we still
have most of her dolls and accessories.

You got a small bird at FB......me too. On Thursday I asked a grocer guy at FB if there were any smaller birds ( the ones in the bin were all 9-11 kg.) He said no and then about 10 minutes later he finds me in the other end of the store and he's grinning carrying a turkey. Gets up to me and said it is just over 4 kg! JUST what I wanted. He searched in the back through a whack of them for me.
I have a much larger bird for the Xmas meal but I wanted this smaller one to try a new recipe where you stuff it with red pears ( skins left on ) and chestnuts! Two birds on the 25th along with sides and desserts....no wonder I keep gaining weight. lol

I suppose we are smarter cookies than many. S & H fees are sometimes more money than the item we place in the cart to buy. How does that make any sense? lol

I could not agree with you more, some stores get a bad rep as expensive BUT if you shop the sales, buy discontinued items, use coupons etc it all helps. With the huge shops I did between Oct 2-9 to maximize the AM earned at Metro, well we are stocked up! ha ha I was thrilled to buy 2 turkeys ( 1 for Thanksgiving the other for Christmas ) during that promo, thank goodness there was room in the freezer.
