the good thing is you only have to deal with non verbal ( well human speaking I mean ) roomies with no opposable thumbs. They can only complain so much if you invade their space, whereas here I get aggravated by the others here shoving the stuff that I had organized and sorted through in piles, because they " needed " to sit. I say sit somewhere else! ha ha
oh yes, the European culture and practices show a whole different relationship regarding spirits. My Mom strangely enough NEVER drank as a teen or an adult, while my Dad was a full on alcoholic by his early 30's.
off leash dog? C'mon! what are people thinking? The distraction factor alone could see that dog getting hit by a car.
what great adventures your guys go on, just fantastic!! Hope your Monday turns out pleasant, well......for a Monday that is.
oh pfft! Just like a " friend " hangs around till all the beer is gone. he suddenly disappears! ha ha
oh I think you may be right, when you come in the door after eating they stare you down until you finally crack and admit you ate something without them!! Our best beggers are the dogs. No relief ever, they are relentless and a tag team. We have to eat downstairs in front of the tv if we want peace, the sound drowns out us chewing, ha ha. Claudius believe it or not is the biggest mooch of anything DH is eating. Climbs right up near the plate, has actually tried to paw some piece off the plate. Once DH had the plate on a small table and from underneath he watched this orange paw come up and snag a piece of chicken down! he never bothers me at all when I eat though. Hamlet is only a whiner for his own cat food, nothing else. If you are in the kitchen and that dish is not full we'll hear about it till it is.
Getting over a cold myself after the first one LO gave me. Two colds in one month! Hope you're on the mend and feeling better. I posted my last attempt at making tapioca in post #347, I think.
Did you still want that tapioca recipe? I posted about it on the forum that it didn't turn out perfect, but DH and LO love it! I just didn't add the taro or vanilla bean, but the tapioca itself was fine. Just the flavour I need to work on!
Good morning! Love, love, the pic of kitty in the sink! Hope you have an absolutely FAB trip - enjoy every minute!
well of course he rules the world, was there ever any doubt? ( His Majesty Quincy Paws!! ) ha ha I know how that " side tracking " thing works too, it has happened to me as well. So nice to have the storage locker all organized though. The gusty winds here have me a bit unnerved, the gazebo outer shell is flapping around out back like a parachute!
I love doggy kisses too, and would absolutely be prepared with a cookie in hand! You can have Quincy.......although she is a sweet looking cat.....male cats are known to be more affectionate, right? Pht...guys...go figure....
Hi, Andi...gosh time flies! I hope good memories of Tory fish replace your sadness soon, Hon; I know how difficult losing a beloved pet can be. Jenny still accompanies me wherever I go and is once again sweet company on our swing outside, although this week's weather may cut our swinging short. So life is going to get pretty exciting in your corner of the world! No running away from home while the athletes and tourists invade? I hope you and your critters have a weekend full of hugs and kissings...at least Lily dog knows about things like that! Take care, Sweetie!
oh I vote eye candy!! no big plans for us, except I have an evil plan to try to coerce DH and DS to assemble the gazebo " skin " over the frame in the backyard?? Maybe also we can get our front yard cleaned up and ready it for some Spring flowers? We'll see.
I have made my own plenty of times BUT since I am the only one eating it here I hate making a mess in my little chopper thing, easier to but. Because of my laziness I have a jar of Tahini sitting in my fridge that probably won't use up before it expires.
Thank you, Andi....I couldn't believe someone would toss off a statement like that! You and I both know (unfortunately) how it is to live with similar kinds of pain...you've certainly been through more than most of us over the years! Old age my A$$! LOL....THAT I can live with! I hope you're having a pretty darn good day, Sweetheart!
ohh!!! a bunny!! we had a dwarf one that destroyed most of the apt years ago. We learned that bunnies chew!! Then we got rid of her. So hummus....well I cannot preach about the eating of a container because I do it as well! The calories on the side are for 2 tblsp!! C'mon! who eats just 2 tblsps?? So I multiplied that number by 10 ( I think ) to get the caloric value for the whole tub ( 227 grams ) and I lived with it somehow...because it still never stopped me from eating it. Hummus is actually nutritious and I eat lots of veggies with mine ( zucchini, carrot, bell peppers ) so that justifies it for me.....ha ha .
dang! I always forget the Bulk Barn has those $3.00 coupons ( we used to use them all the time and I had to teach DH to use his on a separate $10.00 purchase from mine. He thought we were getting a way with something, but the cashiers never cared at all. ) Mmmmm hummus!! No container is safe in this house from me. Have you got small snow flakes falling there now? The dogs and I enjoyed some of them blowing around us on our walk this a.m. Cannot possibly last.
thanks andi! it would be better if it would STOP SNOWING!!!!! my car windows were frozen shut this morning and i had to scrape ice off the windows.
well you just described why Hamlet will likely never walk on a leash, the chances are slim to none that I would invest that much effort in it. I know myself, I'd be too impatient. It did work out lovely for Quincy and you though. I have seen on occasion the odd cat on a leash in my neighbourhood and it cracks me up every time. Most people don't believe what they are looking at.
such a busy day already. Had a full on Wimpy's bkfst at 8:00 a.m. with the guys after their shift ended, dropped them back home to sleep, dashed to Valu-Mart to grab the $1.99 Classico pasta sauces ( with $1.00 rebate on all 3 jars! ) picked up DD so she could return her items to SCT, then we drove out to PTC to get new replacement printer cartridges. No wonder I feel like a nap! We have tried the harness thing once or twice, did not go well, I have the scars to prove it. Hamlet is just a wild one, everything is on HIS terms. Even getting petted, HE has to stealthily make his way up onto you, if you try to hurry him or bring him up closer, he leaves with 1 swift leap. I love him so, his antics are what make him so special.
I decided to force myself out into the rays of the sun in the back for a while this a.m. ( hope that is all my Vit. D requirements?? ) The dogs loved it, the cats sent us evil stares from their wooden enclosure that is screened and hangs off the kitchen window. I simply cannot trust Hamlet, with those claws he'd scale the fence and be gone exploring in a flash! I decided to air the first floor out with open windows, but now I need to have my slippers on! ( brrrr without that sunshine ) Seems extra quiet on the street here today, kind of nice.
Oh you better believe he's spoiled! Oh really, Quincy's a trouble maker huh!? LoL
Oh I know about Labs, the Lady has her Yellow Lab living with her parents right now. He's pushing 17 years old right now! They've been through bumps and bruises, injuries, 2 cancer scares (2 surgeries), and now he's really showing signs of Hip Dysplasia, oh and he's gone def in the last year too. He's their new baby If Lily doesn't teach the new puppy, i'm sure that Quincy will. that's how things work in a home with a cat and dog!
Been well. Jeebus, it's been a while since we last had a chat...looking back at the message chain...new years 2013! Doing alright, moved work places at the end of last year so I took some time away from posting on SC; haven't been back in the Game Room since then, just don't have the time. Still posting the QotDs each morning, drop by when you can What was up with Lily Dog, if you don't mind me asking?
happy easter, andi! hope you're feeling better. thinking of your friend and sending hugs.
sadly I feel my best cycling days are behind me. Until I get my weight down I feel too scared to navigate around any neighbourhood, trails or not. Back then cycling was about 3 things really, it was free! it was great cardio and it was a way to get from point A to B, ( mostly in less time too as City blocks are small compared to out here ) but now since I drive it is tough to go backwards. If I reach my goal weight then the next hurdle I want to attempt is weight training, I have really lost muscle, I miss that more than the biking....lol!
well....for DH and I ( who are freaks for that sort of stuff) the Aquarium was fantastic! I could actually just pull up a chair and watch aquatic life for a long time, very calming and educational. You do have to be patient but sometimes you are just lucky as we were when the 2 giant Sea Turtles swam by!! Sharks galore! and the seahorses! I bought a necklace seahorse on a chain at the gift shop, could not resist! DH and I lived downtown at Bay/Wellesley for about 10 years and that was enough for us! Mind you I really do miss riding my bike everywhere, that was the best way to get around I found. Now that I am 100 years old ( lol ) and my knees aren't the best I find Scarborough bike riding a tough go, well unless it is just a short pleasure ride, i could never do it to work or stuff like that.
no no, I know we are not out in the boonies or anything, our DS lives at Yonge/Gerrard, so we do have to venture down more than we'd like to but ( dislike the downtown core period ) It was all we could do to force ourselves to go to the Ripley's Museum and the Leaf's game March 9th and that was only because we had free tickets ( gifts ) for both!!
I saw the post in the Q thread! ( circus ) You are nice and close to it! I however would have to contemplate leaving Scarberia...maybe, I'll see if DH wants to go.
