oh agreed! And yesterday I dialed the 311 number to ask where my garbage collectors were? The entire street still had their bins out and it was 6:30 p.m. so her first question was " are you calling from Scarborough? " Yes, I was, and she said they were very delayed but leave the bin out, they will get to it. They picked them all up today, poor buggers must have been freezing their buns off. I was up kinda early doing my chauffeur thing for the kids so I think it is nap time now, I'm trying to fight it but the eyes are dropping as I sit here, ha ha

" done " His face and nose were still beet red, and that was after driving for 40 min or so with the heater blasting.
Today he took his Borg Russian looking fur hat with him, I hope he pulls the flaps down over his ears!

Ah my bad, I thought it was power outage...but bad enough its the furnace, but am glad you have power for cooking, making tea, and electric heating pas.

NO!!! geesh now I forget...what is 13 degrees? We managed to keep our house (well kitchen and adjoining room ) at 60 degrees Fahrenheit for the 68 hrs ours was out, but that was with the help of the propane burner going. Hope the furnace guys bring you warm soup when they come!!

Oy, sure hope you can either find somewhere to go, or find a way to bundle up and snuggle up to stay warm! Here the windchill is -50, but it's relatively warm inside!

DH is off work this week, so my real first week of retirement will be experienced a little differently once he goes back. I am very good at cat naps though, perfected them long ago, so if I wake up early, I'll sneak an afternoon rest. Have a wonderful day!

I steeped some orange pekoe tea in that mug and it works! ....... not like me!! lol ( corny I know), puttered around in the wee hours, that might take some practice to stop waking up early. Then dropped DD to work, still kinda crisp out there. You are correct about this being just like a first day of a whole new life! Wow, kind of chokes me up thinking about it like that.
