Wow. Mine IS a kenmore and yes, this is what it's been doing for years now! Honestly, I absolutely hate it. When it's running well, it's a dream to sew with, invisible zippers, quilts, everything. Then it suddenly pulls (literally!) something like this! I have an older machine, maybe two and I'm about ready to haul one of them in for a cleaning! How interesting that you had the same problem! The fabric I was sewing with was good quality cotton quilting fabric, two layers and the batting; I guess it was just too much for it. Thank you, Ciel, you confirmed my suspicions about that machine. Ciel, thank you for the suggestion, Hon...thing is, this machine was just in for a thorough cleaning, so I have no idea what brought this on. I've done tons of sewing with it, but for some reason, from time to time, it has a hissy fit and just plugs up. This time it pulled a whole whack of knotted tread up through the top fabric. A good swift kick is what it needs, I'm thinkin'!
So...I'm knitting up that hat and mitten set and DD loves it, so all I have to do now is finish them before they leave for Georgetown next Friday.

Back when I only had a regular Sears card ( maybe over 20 yrs ago now? ) I used it quite often, as a family needing " things " when life is in busy stage, but we have been past that phase for a while. I got the Sears MC to earn double the points BUT then when I started really seeing their sales were not really the lowest price around, I stopped charging anything there. Oh and they said I could NOT cancel my regular card, I wanted to just keep the one, I mean who needs 2? They would not close that account, but it laid dormant year after year, lol!!

It's just heartbreaking what's going on - the extended family is now going to be put into the middle of this. I just don't understand how people who earned a good wage can be so very greedy.

On a happier note, I hope you are enjoying this weather. I'm in absolute heaven - the hotter the better! Yes, I'm the oddball that has AC and never uses it.

Those stroller pushers feel that they have the right of way every day...but then again, I feel that the majority feel that way too. I sometimes feel that it is pointless to exercise my manners anymore, why show these morons manners? Won't it just feed into their entitled attitudes? ... But I read somewhere that the best way to handle stupid people, is to ignore them... if people are so stupid that they can't even respect your personal space, they are probably capable of putting your life in danger over a foot of space.

it is absolutely true that eliminating gluten and sugar will reduce inflammation. I know because when I was very strict and stayed gf and reduced or eliminated the sugar none of my joints became sore and stiff. It is like a miracle cure that is completely up to us to resist the temptation of baked things. Even though I can and have used commercial gf products, I still say it is better to bake your own and that takes so much trial and error and learning to work with gf flours. I struggle even still with sugar. Once I slip off a little and eat sweets, it is like a switch going on ( addiction!!) and then it makes it so much tougher to quit again. Best of luck to you!
